Blizzard finally announces the launch date for its remastered RTS.

W3 Remastered

Fans had speculated that Blizzard had something going on in the background for a while now. Fortunately, that speculation led to something pretty impressive; the reveal of a launch date for Warcraft 3: Reforged.

Warcraft 3: Reforged, here's what we know

The Warcraft 3: Reforged release date has been confirmed by Blizzard via a blog post for January 29, 2020. The game was originally due to launch during 2019, but Blizzard said that in order to "honor the high standards you hold us to," it was necessary to push back the release until 2020. Better to have a polished game rather than an unfinished one, right!?

When Reforged releases, there'll be a global release. As discussed in the blog post, this will be launched across the 28th and 29th of January to accommodate the global timezones.

What is Warcraft 3: Reforged?

The game initially received a reveal at Blizzcon in 2018, boasting the fact that the game would be a full remaster of Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos in addition to the expansion Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne. Reforged will come bundled with a massive 60 missions combined with a generous seven single-player campaigns to keep you busy. Battle.net's online services will also come equipped to enable matchmaking features.

Remastered

Other titles from Blizzard have already been given the remaster treatment, such as Starcraft, so it seems Warcraft 3 is following the same footsteps. "Reforged takes you back to a tumultuous time in Azeroth's history, when a dark shadow eclipsed a peaceful land, the world trembled before the coming Burning Legion, and heroes risked it all to prevent the death of their world."

Warcraft 3: Reforged is already available to pre-order on the Blizzard Store, and if you're feeling prosperous, you can also grab the Spoils of War edition, which is packed full of goodies. The goodies not only apply to reforged, but you'll also get the Third War Card Pack for Hearthstone, a World of Warcraft Meat Wagon, and Overwatch animated sprays and player icons (to name a few).
